Scientific research shows that more than 90% of the people that attempt to lose weight by following a diet fail.

If you’re eating is based on emotional hunger because you are stressed, bored, lonely, miserable, tired or any # of reasons, none of which have anything to do with physical hunger, your body will never be satisfied from food. This is why so many people never feel full. They never get the signal to stop eating because they weren’t hungry in the first place. Food can be a very powerful short term fix and it gives you immediate comfort. But afterwards you feel the disappointment. Now you not only feel bad because you don’t fit into your clothes, you also feel bad for eating when you weren’t; hungry. You got the short term relief from the food, and also the crash afterwards.
The brain doesn’t remember the crash, it’s the comfort provided by the food it remembers.
The question to ask yourself is “Am I really hungry, or do I just want to change the way I feel?” If it turns out you just want to change the way you feel, there is no amount of food that will work.

   The basic premise is:
   1. Eat only when you are hungry.
   2. Eat foods you enjoy
   3. Eat slowly and consciously
   4. Stop when you begin to feel full.

Regardless of the cause of your overeating, the goal is to replace the emotional satisfaction that food provides with a healthy choice that serves the same purpose. For instance, if you snack just to relax you may consider replacing that behavior by sitting down and closing    your eyes for 5 minutes and simply focus on your breath, or try listening to some soothing music, or calling a friend. or listening to the CD I provide in the workshop.
